Sofia Talvik
Sofia Talvik is the next rising star from Sweden.  She has emerged like a lady of the forest, bringing a new, interesting side to folk music. Where other artists surrender to the mainstream, Sofia makes her own paths through the musical underbrush of today.  Her soft and airy music has been recognized by music lovers and critics all over the world, paving the way for several U.S. tours and making her the first Swedish female singer to play at the Lollapalooza festival.

Having released four full-length albums since 2005, Talvik is now on an extensive tour in the U.S., including venues in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.  Leaving her backing band at home, she is performing instead with video art that brings her stories and the mystical world of Scandinavia to life.

Sofia Talvik on the “Driving and Dreaming” tour:
“I love the name because it referrers to the vast distances I will be driving across America to play for all of you, and the fact that I also follow my dream by doing so.  It also reminds me of a favorite song that’s called “Falling and Flying” from the movie Crazy Heart.  Over the years I’ve been living out my passion of music and traveling in small portions, through starting my label, releasing a bunch of records and traveling through Asia and the U.S.A. many times.  Every time I did something adventurous I felt more alive, and every time I came home to my apartment in Stockholm I felt like I had left a little part of myself behind.  Finally I decided it was time to go all in and that’s what this tour is about.  I look forward to sharing my music with new people and traveling through the U.S.  It’s “Drivin’ & Dreaming.” (Just don’t do it both at once)

Sparrow & the Ghost
Stuart Bond and Rachael Roberts compose the male/female duo Sparrow & the Ghost, and they both bring a history of successful musicianship to the table.  Bond and Roberts met while performing with local favorites The Still Guns, and Bond first cut his teeth as front-man for the now defunct Tuscaloosa group, The National Trust.  A shared love of traditional music brought the two together, and they now inflect their own unique spin on the classic sounds of folk, country and the blues.
