The Arts Council

Established in 1970 by a group of citizens dedicated to the arts, the Mission of The Arts Council is to promote and encourage the arts and humanities in Tuscaloosa County. The Arts Council serves as the umbrella organization for 50 Member Organizations, offers educational programs and manages the historic Bama Theatre and the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center.

Tuscaloosa Arts Council Update Regarding Venues and Events Relating to the Coronavirus

All events will be evaluated on a case by case basis and guidance from local, state, and federal agencies. Venues will be following and encouraging best practice CDC GUIDELINES among both employees and patrons. The Arts Council and its venues are closely monitoring the situation and will be updating the public with information through our website and social media.
