DINAH WASHINGTON CULTURAL ARTS CENTER WILL FEATURE WORKS
BY NÖELLE MERCURIO

(TUSCALOOSA, Ala.) An exhibit by artist Nöelle Mercurio will be featured at The Arts Council Gallery at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center. The display will be open to the public October 4-25, 2019 with an opening reception held on Friday, October 4 from 5-8 p.m. during First Friday.

Nöelle Mercurio, born in Miami, Fla. and raised in Tuscaloosa, Ala., features a body of work composed of abstract mixed media art. Her style is unique and her range is broad.  Mercurio studied fine art, graphic design, photography and advertising at the prestigious Pratt Institute in New York City.  After moving back to Tuscaloosa in 1999, she was a small business owner, which transferred her creativity to more of a marketing role. In 2014, the artist closed her business to have a more flexible schedule, and it was at this time that she began honing her skills as a fine artist and painter.   Her use of color, texture and medium give each piece a tremendous depth, which allows the viewer a different experience every time he/she views it. Whether it is acrylic, oil or watercolor, her one-of-a-kind pieces bring life and energy to any space.
