ART WORK BY TUSCALOOSA COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM STUDENTS WILL BE FEATURED IN EXHIBIT

 

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) An exhibit of art work created by students in the Tuscaloosa County School System will be on display at The Arts Council Gallery at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center April 24-May 12, 2017. An opening reception will take place on May 5 from 5-8 p.m. during First Friday.

The exhibit will be composed of works by both middle and high school students. Each art teacher selected seven to 10 pieces with the display including drawing, painting, mixed media and 3-D pieces. There are five high schools and eight middle schools in the TCSS.

The First Friday reception will include performances by the TCHS jazz band and vocal performances by the Choral Department in the Black Box Theatre. The Tuscaloosa County High School Velvet Blue Orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Jed Smart and Mr. Michael Guzman, and the Tuscaloosa County High School Choral Department is under the direction of Ms. Ginny Coleman.

Gallery hours are weekdays 9 a.m.- noon and 1-4 p.m.
