 2018 DOUBLE EXPOSURE ADULT DIVISION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa is pleased to announce the Adult Division winners of the 2018 Double Exposure Juried Photography competition.  Open to photographers from the state of Ala. only, the annual event is now in its 15th year. 

Artists were allowed to enter up to three works in either Adult or Junior categories, and any photographic media was accepted. Tuscaloosa photographer Michael Moore served as the judge.

Awards were contributed in part by Buffalo Rock Pepsi of Tuscaloosa.

Adult Division:
Best of Show $500:
“Crematorium,” Elizabeth Rand, Tuscaloosa

Cash Awards $250 each:

“Tea Time,” Kay Brummel, Montgomery
“Lane’s Cove,” Warren Simons, Montgomery
“Primping Pelicans,” Madelyn Bonnett, Columbiana
“Gears,” Brenda Miller, Birmingham

Honorable Mention:

“Light Show in the Mountains,” Jim Morris, Tuscaloosa

The Adult Division exhibit will open on Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. during First Friday at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center with awards presented at 6:30 p.m. Gallery hours are weekdays from 9 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. with the exhibit concluding on Feb. 23.

The opening reception will coincide with Community Arts Conversations, also at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Featuring performances by local arts groups, door prizes, such as ticket giveaways, will also be available. Both events are free and open to the public.
