Entrance Fee

The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa is sponsoring its annual juried show for West Alabama artists. A $35 entry fee entitles any Tuscaloosa County artist to submit up to three works for judging. Only original works by artists living in Tuscaloosa County will be accepted.

Note: Entries must not have been previously entered in a West Alabama Juried Art Show.

    First round judging and notification

    Deliver accepted works to DWCAC (9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

    Installation and hanging

    Exhibition opens (Mon-Fri, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Feb 5
    First Friday (5 p.m.) and awards presentation (5:30 p.m.)

    Final day of exhibit

Submission Requirements

Media: All two- and three-dimensional media accepted

Size limits: Maximum 4 feet × 4 feet, 50 pounds

Email completed form and digital images to competitions@tuscarts.org from November 16–December 4, 2026.

Image requirements: JPG format, max 2MB. Name files with the title of the artwork. Include title, dimensions, description, and price for each piece on the application form.

Payment:

  • Online: $35 + $2.50 convenience fee
  • Check: $35, due by Dec 10 (Arts Council of Tuscaloosa, P.O. Box 1117, Tuscaloosa, AL 35403)
  • The link to make payment will not be active until November 16

Artwork Preparation

Two-dimensional works must be framed and ready to hang with secure wire attachment. Works delivered unframed will be disqualified.

Not acceptable: Loose wires, saw tooth brackets, or other hangers will result in rejection.

Label works on back upper right corner. No class or workshop pieces accepted. All works must have titles ("Untitled" not acceptable).

Additional Information

Insurance: All works insured while in Arts Council custody

Sales: Works may be priced for sale. Buyers referred to artist. No commission charged.

Pickup: February 22-24. Works not collected within one month donated to charity.

Publicity: Arts Council may use images for promotional purposes

Labels should be attached to the back of works only if chosen for exhibit
