VISUAL ART AND MUSIC BY TUSCALOOSA COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM STUDENTS WILL BE FEATURED DURING FIRST FRIDAY

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) An exhibit of art work created by students in the Tuscaloosa County School System will be on display in The Arts Council Gallery at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center April 6-27, 2018. An opening reception will take place on April 6 from 5-8 p.m. during First Friday.

The exhibit will be composed of works by both middle and high school students. Each art teacher selected seven to ten pieces with the display including a variety of media. There are five high schools and eight middle schools in the TCSS.

The First Friday reception will also include performances by the Hillcrest High School Jazz Ensemble and vocal performances by the Musical Theatre Department in the Black Box Theatre. The jazz ensemble is under the direction of Kevin Thomas and Daniel Cubas, and the musical theatre instructor is Brent Jones.

Gallery hours are weekdays 9 a.m.- noon and 1-4 p.m.
