THE VULCAN EEJITS AND STEVE NORRIS FEATURED ON JANUARY 23 ACOUSTIC NIGHT

(Tuscaloosa)  Acoustic Night will feature the Vulcan Eejits and Steve Norris on January 23, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Cover is $5 with a full service bar available. Presented by The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa, Acoustic Night features musicians from around the country throughout the calendar year in the intimate setting of the Bama Theatre’s Greensboro Room.

The Vulcan Eejits is a group of long-time musician friends who have had the opportunity to perform as a group in the last year or so. All members are from Alabama, and Birmingham’s statue of Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and forge, also provided some inspiration for the group’s name. Kevin Nicholson on fiddle, Scot Ó Muilleoir on flute, Jil Chambless on flute and vocals and Dan Vogt on guitar and vocals will perform traditional Irish and Scottish dance tunes and songs.

Steve Norris is a singer/songwriter from Helena, Alabama who has performed in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area since the mid 90’s. Born and raised in Northport, he first started strumming during high school. His new CD is titled I Just Can’t Help Myself and includes some of Birmingham’s best musicians and singers. Tributes to Family and Friends, his first CD, was released in January, 2002.

The Bama Theatre is located at 600 Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa.
