ENTRIES ACCEPTED IN DECEMBER FOR 2018 STATEWIDE DOUBLE EXPOSURE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT


(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will present the 15th Annual Double Exposure Juried Photography Exhibit at the Bama Theatre and Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center in 2018.  The competition will be open to Alabama photographers with divisions for both juniors (Ages 12-17) and adults (Ages 18 and older).

Junior Division entries will be accepted for the first round of judging Dec. 4-10, 2017 by digital upload. A fee of $25 will be charged to enter three images. Adult Division entries will be accepted for the first round of judging Dec. 11-17, 2017, also by digital upload. A fee of $35 will be charged to enter three images. No entry fees will be refunded.

The Junior Division portion of the competition will be exhibited at the Bama Theatre’s Junior League Gallery Jan. 22-Feb. 11, 2018 with the awards presentation and closing reception on Feb. 11 from 2 -3 p.m. The Adult Division will be on display at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center Feb. 2-23, 2018 in The Arts Council Gallery and will feature an opening reception and presentation of awards on Feb. 2 from 5-8 p.m. during First Friday.

The top award in the Adult Division will be the Howard & Michael Goodson and Richard Zoellner Best in Show Award-$500. Four $250 cash awards will also be given. The Best in Show winner will be invited to present a solo exhibit in an Arts Council gallery at a later date. Junior Division awards include a $250 cash award for Best in Show plus four $125 cash awards.

Prize money will be sponsored in part by Buffalo Rock Pepsi.

Submittable.com, a digital image upload site, will be used for image submissions. A link to the site will be present on the Double Exposure website pages the day submissions open.

Gallery hours are Mon.-Fri. from 9 a.m.-noon & 1 p.m.-4 p.m. The Bama Theatre is located at 600 Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa and the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center at 620 Greensboro Ave. on the same block.
