DECEMBER EXHIBIT WILL FEATURE THE KENTUCK RED DOG POTTERS

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) “An Exhibition of the Kentuck Red Dog Potters” will be on display in The Arts Council Gallery at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center Dec. 1, 2017-Jan. 3, 2018. The exhibit will open with a reception honoring the artists on Dec. 1 from 5-8 p.m. during First Friday.

The Kentuck Red Dog Potters perpetuate the art and craft of pottery as a community of artists of all levels who learn, collaborate and create in a cooperative work space. The group engages the community and develops appreciation of the arts through classes, demonstrations and displays of members’ work. Originally founded as the Kentuck Clay Co-op six years ago, the Potters have grown from five original members to 30.

Those individuals exhibiting their work are Karen Bownes, Robert Lewis, Hayes Dobbins, Kayla Moring, Doris Blum, Mari Ezawa, Linda Lochman, Anne Franklin Lamar, Judi Wheeler, Carol Lammon, Fred Mitchell, Susan Allen and Kiersten Ellis.

The Arts Council Gallery is open weekdays 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. with the exception of holidays in December and January.
