CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS III” ART EXHIBIT AT THE BAMA THEATRE

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will host an upcoming exhibit of work presented by The Arc of Tuscaloosa County at the Bama Theatre’s Junior League Gallery. “Creative Expressions III” will be on display Sept. 5 – 26, 2014.  An opening reception and artist meet-and-greet will be held during First Friday, Sept. 5, from 5 – 8 p.m. and will also feature a performance by the Sounds of Joy, the Arc’s resident choir. 

The exhibit will feature paintings and drawings created by individuals who are served at The Arc of Tuscaloosa County, which provides programs and services for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.  The Arc incorporates art instruction in its weekly schedule of activities, providing a stimulating creative outlet that contributes to their overall quality of life and skill development. This year’s art will include canvas paintings as well as painted decorative glassware.

Gallery hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and also during Bama Theatre events. During daytime hours, enter the gallery through the PARA entrance, located adjacent to the theatre.
