CALL FOR ARTISTS: SECOND ANNUAL EXHIBIT IN RECOGNITION OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

(TUSCALOOSA, Ala.) The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Juried Show in recognition of Black History Month for African American artists in West Alabama during the month of February. The exhibit will take place Feb. 7-28, 2020 at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center with an opening reception on Feb. 7 from 5-8 p.m. during the First Friday Art Walk.

Artists are invited to submit up to three works for judging. Work does not have to be related to Black History Month. Only original two- and three-dimensional works by artists living in Bibb, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Perry, Shelby, Sumter, Tuscaloosa and Walker Counties are eligible.

All dates, entry requirements, procedures and applications are available on The Arts Council’s website at https://tuscarts.org/black-history-month.php. The completed application and up to three images should be emailed to competitions@tuscarts.org from January 13-17, 2020. All two-dimensional pieces accepted for the show must be ready for hanging and matted, framed and under glass if appropriate. Maximum size is 5 1/2 feet x 5 1/2 feet, and maximum weight is 50 pounds for all entries.
