ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS SUMMER PROGRAMMING FOR CHILDREN AT CAC

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.)  The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will present two performances of “The Three Little Kittens” at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center’s Black Box Theatre on June 16, 2014. A production of Birmingham Children’s Theatre, showtimes are 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Suggested ages are 2 – 7.

With the book and lyrics by Jean Pierce and musical score by Jay Tumminello “The Three Little Kittens” tells the heartwarming story of Katie Sue. Katie is always losing her stuff. She lost her lunchbox, gym socks, and her blue crayon. This time she’s lost her mittens and her mom is really mad. If she can’t find her mittens, she can’t eat any pie! With the help of her three furry kittens, she travels to the Land of Lost and Found and learns that any problem can be solved with a little bit of thinking!

“The Three Little Kittens” represents The Arts Council’s educational component within their mission to promote the arts. The production will be entertaining and also include important life lessons as demonstrated with a professional cast. “This production is our first presentation of family programming in the Black Box Theatre, and we hope parents and organizations will take advantage of this opportunity for a quality summer activity with their children,” said Sharron Rudowski, Director of Educational Programs.

Tickets are $5 per person and are available by calling 205-345-9801 or by emailing education@tuscarts.org.
