2014 DOUBLE EXPOSURE PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION DEADLINE NOVEMBER 27, 2013
(Tuscaloosa) The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will present the eleventh annual Double Exposure Juried Photography Exhibition, January 21 through February 14, 2014 at the Bama Theatre. The competition is open to Alabama photographers with divisions for both adults (Ages 18 and older) and juniors (Ages 12-17). The deadline for entries (on CD) is November 27, 2013. All photographic media will be accepted.
Harrison Galleries, Tuscaloosa, is sponsoring the Adult Division Purchase Award and cash prizes.
A fee of $35 will be charged to enter three images in the Adult division. Two additional images may be submitted (for a maximum of five) for $5 per piece. A fee of $25 will be charged to enter three images in the Junior division. Two additional images may be submitted (for a maximum of five) for $5 per piece. No entry fees will be refunded.
Awards in the Adult Division include a $500 Purchase Award for Best of Show plus four $250 cash awards. The Purchase Award winner will be invited to present a solo exhibit in an Arts Council gallery at a later date.
Junior Division awards include a $250 cash award for Best of Show plus four $125 cash awards.
Entries submitted for judging must be on CD (compatible to PC with Windows) format. All entries must be original work, completed within the last two years and not previously shown in any Arts Council or Bama Theatre show. Works chosen for the exhibit must be framed with professional standards under Plexiglas or glass and be ready for hanging. Framed work should be no larger than 32” x 32”.
The exhibit will open on January 21, 2014 and will close on February 14. A reception and awards presentation will take place on Sunday, February 2 from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday – Friday from 9 am – 12 pm & 1 pm – 4 pm and also during Bama Theatre events.
