The Junior League Gallery is located in the balcony area of the Bama Theatre and houses exhibits throughout the year. Many local visual artists exhibit works on a monthly basis. The West Alabama Juried Show is a juried art competition for adult artists living in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Pickens and Tuscaloosa counties. The WAJS is always held in the Fall of each year. Prizes include a $750 purchase award, a $300 second place award, $100 third place award and several honorable mentions. The exhibit is on display from the middle of November until Christmas each year. The Annual Double Exposure Juried Photography Exhibit takes place in January and February. All photographic media is accepted to this statewide competition. Links to the gallery schedule and applications for the upcoming competitions are listed to the right. The Arts Council also sponsors the Visual Art Achievement Awards, which is affiliated with the Alabama State Council on the Arts. This competition features winning artwork from local middle and high school students in February and March of each year.
